Alyssa Bodison

I, Ms. Alyssa Bodison, am the daughter of the late Mrs. Mary Washington Bodison and Mr. Richard Lee McMillon-Bodison (Charlene). I am the proud mother of one son, Legrier, one daughter gifted by God, Shareece (Marquis), three grandsons, Chase, Lennox, and Lucas, and one granddaughter, Dallas. I am a native of Colleton County and a firm believer in God. Without him, I am nothing. Since birth, I have been a member of the Rock of Ages C.M.E. Church in Walterboro where I serve and have served on the Steward, Stewardess and Missionary Boards, and the Gospel Choir.

I have been serving within the law enforcement profession for 30 years with 27 years of supervisory service. I began my law enforcement career with the Colleton County Sheriff’s office as a 911 Communications Operator and worked my way throughout the department serving as a road Patrol Officer/Supervisor, and a School Resource Officer/Supervisor. I am currently serving as School Resource Officer with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. I have received numerous accolades for my outstanding law enforcement service to the citizens of Colleton County to include School Resource Officer of the Year for the State of South Carolina and the first recipient of the City of Goose Creek Police Department Life Saver Award. This year, I also received The Law Enforcement Hero of the Year award from the Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses, more commonly known as "The Forty & Eight."

I have seen, heard, and understand the concerns of the citizens of Colleton County. I continue to stand on the platform of justice and equality for EVERYONE. I am a candidate with “Integrity and a serious commitment to community service.”
